The Reich Concordat, signed on 20 July 1933 between the Holy See and the German Reich, has provoked numerous controversies in politics, society and research. For this reason, the study asks what role the Reich Concordat played in shaping the relationship between the German state and the Catholic Church from the Weimar Republic to the divided Germany.
